5 best LED eye masks, reviewed in 2025

At first glance, even the best LED eye masks may seem like a bit of an overkill — yet another extra step in your skincare routine that may not feel all that necessary (let alone budget-friendly). But you know what's definitely not up to debate? How much your delicate under-eye area needs some extra TLC.
“The skin around the eyes is thinner, more delicate, and more prone to damage than any other area of the face,” says Dr Dennis Gross, dermatologist and co-founder of his namesake brand. So, while a nourishing eye cream will do most of the heavy-lifting, it doesn't hurt to equip yourself with a skincare device that will take your routine one step further.
Another universal truth? Ask any dermatologist and they'll tell you that LED treatment benefits make a case for the most research-backed and effective remedies in the beauty industry: red light therapy devices. And although LED face masks continue to dominate the space, trust me when I tell you that as far as targeted treatments go, a precise tool that focuses on the area around your eyes is well worth the investment.
According to Dr. Dr. Maryam Zamani, oculoplastic surgeon and founder of MZ Skin, “a dedicated LED eye mask delivers low-intensity light at wavelengths tailored to the periorbital area. It targets specific concerns such as fine lines, dark circles, and puffiness, while incorporating safety features for ocular protection.”
Think of it as a complimentary element within your regimen — similar to how your eye cream works in conjunction with your moisturiser, offering a gentler, more targeted approach. “A full-face LED face mask provides broader coverage, stimulating collagen, improving tone and texture, reducing inflammation and addressing acne; however, it often misses the orbital region. That’s why I recommend using both,” explains Dr. Zamani.
That said, the process of choosing the right model is just about as tricky as picking up any other piece of technology. And unless you're an industry insider, knowing which LED eye mask is best for your exact concerns isn't as straightforward as you'd think. Plus, given the steep price tag, the pressure to choose the right one is that much higher. Luckily, I've spent the last two months testing the very best options on the market, having also consulted with dermatologists to bring you a definitive edit, plus all the expert-led advice you could ask for. Here's everything you need to know.

Why you can trust me:
As an experienced beauty journalist with half a decade's worth of experience reviewing skincare products – from facial serums to red light therapy hair growth devices, microcurrent devices, moisturisers and, more recently, Korean skincare. So, I'm no stranger to testing tools like LED eye masks – and I've spoken to countless experts and dermatologists who have helped furthered my knowledge on what to look out for, too. Naturally, I'm not easily impressed, and it takes way more than an aesthetic design for me to claim that I actually love a product. I know more about beauty and skincare than your average beauty fan. You can trust my reviews are thorough.
How I tested the best LED eye masks:
When testing each of the LED eye masks in this edit, I aimed to assess the actual technology and science behind each iteration first: including wavelengths of light emitted (red/near-infrared/amber red), the number of LED lights and portability. Plus, given that LED eye masks come in all various iterations – be it a pair of LED eye patches or a hard-shell design – I also take note of other equally important factors like comfort and coverage of treatment.
To ensure a fair verdict, I reviewed each of the LED eye masks one at a time for at least 30 days – over a full skin cycle – while keeping the rest of my skincare routine unchanged. Find out more about GLAMOUR's testing process and criteria here.

All your LED eye masks questions, answered:
What are the benefits of using LED around our eyes?
“The eye area is usually the first to show signs of aging. It’s also one of the most delicate, which makes it prone to inflammation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. LED light is a safe, clinically proven way to firm, smooth, and brighten this area by boosting collagen and calming inflammation,” explains Dr. Gross.
“The benefits of using LED specifically around the eyes include the stimulation of fibroblasts, the enhancement of collagen and elastin production, improved microcirculation, and reduction of oxidative stress,” says Dr. Zamani.
“Clinical studies suggest that these mechanisms may reduce dark circles, minimise puffiness, smooth fine lines, and improve overall skin brightness and texture,” she adds.
How does using a dedicated eye LED eye mask differ from a full face LED face mask?
According to Dr. Gross, “A dedicated LED eye mask is specifically designed for the delicate eye area, targeting concerns like puffiness and dark circles with a more precise fit and gentler treatment.” He recommends starting “with a full-face LED device to treat the complexion, and follow with an eye-specific device for targeted care.”
“Treatment sessions are short and localised. A full-face device provides broader coverage, stimulating collagen, improving tone and texture, reducing inflammation, and addressing acne," shares Dr. Zamani.
"Both devices can be complementary: the face mask for global rejuvenation and the eye mask for precision treatment of persistent periorbital concerns,” she adds.
Do you need to reach a certain age to start using an LED eye mask?
“Typical users tend to be those who are reaching late thirties/early 40s when fine lines and wrinkles are starting to form in the area. However, LED is great to use at any age (after 18) if you wish to incorporate it into your skincare routine,” says Laurence Newman, CEO and Founder of CurrentBody.
Meanwhile, Dr. Zamani shares that “preventive use typically begins in the mid-20s, when collagen production naturally declines.”
“In younger individuals, LED is used more commonly under supervision for acne management, and most consumer devices are cleared for use from mid-teens onward,” she explains.
How often should you use an LED eye mask?
“Consistency is everything. You won’t see results if the device is just sitting on your shelf,” reiterates Dr. Gross. “Some people prefer morning use to reduce puffiness and brighten their eyes before makeup. Others enjoy it as part of a calming nighttime ritual. In about four weeks, you’ll begin to see visible improvements in firmness, brightness, and smoothness, with continued benefits over time,” he says.
While some users will benefit from using it daily, Dr. Zamani shares that "recommended use is 3 to 5 sessions per week for minutes, depending on the device’s specifications.”
What should I keep in mind when shopping for an LED eye mask?
“Not all LED devices are created equal. Look for masks that use multiple wavelengths, including red light for collagen stimulation and infrared for deeper penetration and enhanced circulation,” recommends Dr. Gross.
“Infrared light can reach the dermal layers without heating the skin, making it ideal for sensitive areas like the eyes. Also, ensure the device is FDA-cleared and clinically tested for safety and efficacy. The goal is to deliver therapeutic energy without irritation or risk,” he shares.
