As if defining an entire summer vibe, headlining this year's Glastonbury and winning three Grammys and five Brit Awards isn't enough, Charli XCX is very much entering her movie (and TV) era.
After appearing in much-loved queer coming-of-age TV series Overcompensating (as a heightened version of herself) and contributing hugely to the show's music, Charli is also credited as a composer for upcoming film Mother Mary, which stars Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel and will undoubtedly be massive.
The star duo will reportedly play a “lesbian power couple”.

But that's not all – not by a long shot. She has also come something of a movie influencer, with her Letterboxd account having garnered over 280,000 after it got leaked. The singer (soon to be big-time actor, we predict) has logged over 2,000 hours of movie watching on her account, including new Bridget Jones movie Mad About The Boy.
Charli has got loads of her own movie projects in the pipeline too, according to IMDB, including titles where she will star alongside huge names such as Emma Corrin, Anya Taylor-Joy, Barbie Ferreira, Catherine Zeta Jones, Jenna Ortega and Natalie Portman.
“I am really enjoying my acting journey,” she recently told Variety in an interview. “I feel very, very inspired at the moment in that field, I feel unbelievably creative, and I only ever want to do things that inspire me and make me feel energised.”
"I’m very interested in wherever possible of trying to grow things myself from the ground up,” she continued. “I’m sort of building things with my network of friends and directors that I admire and things like that. Whatever kind of creative project I’m working on, I always prefer when the initial spark is coming from like me and my fellow collaborators rather than sort of like outsourcing, you know what I mean? I try and go and find material myself, basically.”
“I don’t necessarily go to movies to feel good,” Charli says. “Don’t get me wrong. There are definitely some movies that I love that are feel good, but I like a lot of sad and dark movies.”
Charli has set up her own production company named Studio365, and she is set to star in two of its upcoming titles – an untitled film directed by prolific Japanese horror film director Takeshi Mike, as well as upcoming movie The Moment, which has been described as a "mockumentary film following a pop star as she prepares for her first headlining tour. It will star Overcompensating star Rish Shah, Alexander Skarsgård and Kate Berlant.
Here's a rundown of the rest of Charli's upcoming movies, from 100 Nights of Hero to Erupcja.

Faces of Death
Slated to be a modern remake of the 1978 horror film of the same name, Faces of Death will see a group of people re-enacting the murders of the original film online, and a website moderator must discern whether or not the footage of them doing so is real.
