Things seem to have reached a boiling point after years of rumoured tension within the Beckham family, after Brooklyn Beckham issued a statement containing shocking allegations against his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Brooklyn Beckham accused his parents of “controlling narratives in the press” about the family. He accuses his parents of “trying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship since before [his] wedding” to billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz. Glamour has reached out to reps for David and Victoria for comment. David has vaguely alluded to the shocking posts in a recent interview while discussing his children and social media. Victoria has also shared photos on her Instagram Stories.
The media began reporting on a supposed fallout between Victoria and her Nicola Peltz-Beckham just a few months after the wedding in April 2022, allegedly starting during the wedding planning process. While Nicola and Brooklyn shut down family feud rumours at the time, that didn't stop years of headlines and articles analysing family events and photos for evidence of a rift or reconciliation. In late 2025, however, estrangement rumours were back in full force — this time centred around Brooklyn and Cruz.
Now, it seems Brooklyn is done denying the drama. In six separate posts on his Instagram Stories, stated, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

Here's a complete timeline of the alleged Beckham family drama, with the most recent updates at the start:
January 21st, 2026: Victoria hasn’t addressed the comments yet, but she did post on Instagram, sharing a birthday message for her Spice Girls bandmate Emma Bunton.
“Happy birthday @emmaleebunton I love you so much!” she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
She also wrote “Happy birthday baby 🤍 Kisses xxx” referring to Bunton's previous label as “Baby Spice.”
January 20th, 2026: Speaking on CNBC’s Squawk Box on Tuesday, David Beckham stopped short of addressing the dispute directly, instead speaking more broadly about his children and the dangers of social media.
He said, “I’ve been able to use my platform and my following for UNICEF, and it’s been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children.”
“I’ve tried to do the same. I’ve tried to do the same with my children to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn.
“So that’s what I try to teach my kids. But you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well.”
January 19th, 2026: Brooklyn Beckham posts a detailed statement on his Instagram Stories, alleging that his parents have given him “no choice but to speak for [him]self and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. He goes on to accuse Victoria of derailing his wedding to Nicola, alleging that she "Cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress."
At the time, Nicola said in an interview with Variety, “I was going to [wear Victoria Beckham] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.”
Brooklyn further accused his mother of hijacking his first dance with Nicola, saying, "In front of 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.
"She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life."
He then added that he and Nicola had chosen to renew their vows in 2025 to “create new memories” of the wedding day “that bring [them] joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
Brooklyn further claimed that his father “refused all of our attempts” to spend quality time with him, “unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.”
Concluding, Brooklyn said, "My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first.
'Family "love" is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo op even if it's at the expense of our professional obligations."
January 8, 2026: It's reported that Brooklyn Beckham has issued David and Victoria with a legal notice, warning his parents to contact him through lawyers only. A cease and desist letter was issued by the Brooklyn-Peltz family, which instructed the Beckhams not to “tag” him or Nicola on social media. Apparently, this legal letter was issued to the family at an unspecified date last summer.
According to the reports, a breach of this legal letter in December (more on this below!) was the motivation behind Brooklyn blocking his parents and brother Cruz on Instagram. At the time of writing (Jan 9th, 2026), Nicola has also blocked the Beckhams.
From powerfully opening up about her eating disorder to dealing with misogyny in the fashion industry.

According to The Sun, Brooklyn Beckham blocked his parents and siblings after his mum Victoria liked a roast chicken recipe video he shared on Instagram.
As of December 21, Brooklyn does not follow Victoria, David, Cruz, or Romeo on Instagram, though he does follow his brother's photography page, @romeosfilmfotos. June 16, 2025: DJ Kim Turnbull, who has been romantically linked to Romeo Beckham since November 2024, publicly denies rumours that she'd previously dated Brooklyn.
"I've avoided speaking on this topic to prevent adding fuel to the fire, but it's come to the point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on," Turnbull wrote on her Instagram story, per People. “I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question. Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16. I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation & set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved.”

June 4, 2025: A source tells People that Nicola and Brooklyn skipped his dad's birthday party because DJ Turnbull was invited. "Brooklyn didn't want to be in the same room as her, and he told his dad that, but David opted to have Kim there over Nicola," the source says. A second source adds, “Brooklyn and Kim know each other from the past, and his family knows he's not comfortable around her.”
Early May 2025: Brooklyn and Nicola are noticeably absent from David's other birthday celebrations. "There are tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family," a source tells People on May 3. "The relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life."
As I went through the healing process, I realised I couldn't hear the voices of the women who chose to dig in and sort through the hard stuff.

However, a source tells Us Weekly that Victoria and David are “over it” and have "thrown in the towel over the whole thing.”

February 24, 2023: New details come out from Nicola's father Nelson Peltz's lawsuit against two of the wedding planners who were briefly hired to take over the project after another set of planners were let go.
August 10, 2022: Nicola and Brooklyn address the feud rumours, as well as Nicola's decision to wear a Valentino wedding dress. “I was going to [wear Victoria Beckham] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” Nicola tells Variety. “She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”
Okay, we're obsessed.

Brooklyn adds, “I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that. They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good.”
August 4, 2022: Page Six reports that there's a “full-on cold war” between Nicola and Victoria. A source told the outlet that “the build-up to the wedding was horrendous” and that they “can’t stand each other and don’t talk.” The source also claims that Victoria was peeved at her son for posting a magazine cover that referred to his bride as “the New Mrs. Beckham.”

But with COVID, I waited until our families could be part of it,” he explained.
