Anyone else finished Bridgerton season three and craving more period drama sexiness? My Lady Jane is out next week, and has everything we need for such cravings.
The Amazon Prime series is based on the series of popular novels co-authored by Cynthia Hand, Brodie Ashton and Jodie Meadows, reimagining the real-life story of Lady Jane Grey, who spent nine days as Queen of England back in 1553.
While history cut her reign short (due to the fact she was beheaded) the series looks at what could've happened if Lady Jane continued in power. It's quite cool actually, empowering a woman from history to live on.
Give us all the goss.

And if the trailer is anything to go by, the show looks like a feminist reimagining of what being a female royal might have been like in the 1500s – it's also rather raunchy.
Here's everything we know so far about My Lady Jane.
My Lady Jane plot
There's a LOT going on. Amazon Prime's plot synopsis reads as follows:
"In 1553, Lady Jane Grey was crowned Queen of England. Nine days later, she lost the throne —and shortly thereafter, her head. But what if history were different?
"My Lady Jane is a satirical comedic fantasy series that reimagines the rise and reign of Lady Jane Grey. When her ambitious mother sells Jane’s hand to the highest bidder, Jane is dismayed to discover that her dreaded husband-to-be, Guildford Dudley, is an infuriatingly attractive stranger with a dark secret, one that has the potential to get them both killed.
"But there are greater conspiracies afoot, like a plot to murder her cousin, King Edward, and throw the entire kingdom into chaos. A sharp-tongued, warm-hearted story full of romance, adventure and fantasy, My Lady Jane reveals that true love is real, people are not always what they seem, and even doomed heroines can save themselves. Long live the Queen."
So far, so sexy period drama. But the magical, fantastical element also seems interesting – we'll see characters in society split into “Verities”, regular people, and “Ethians” who can turn into animals. A slight departure from Bridgerton vibes here, and we are intrigued.
My Lady Jane cast
There are a great deal of famous faces appearing, but the lead titular role of Lady Jane will be played by relative newcomer and rising star Emily Bader and Sex Education star Edward Bluemel will play Guildford Dudley.
Gavin and Stacey favourite Rob Brydon will appear as Lord Dudley, Dominic Cooper will star as his rival at court. Four Weddings and a Funeral's Anna Chancellor, Jim Broadbent, Isabella Brownson, Robyn Betteridge, Kate O'Flynn, Abbie Hern, Joe Klocek, Michael Workeye and Máiréad Tyers will also appear.
My Lady Jane release date
The series will drop on Amazon Prime on 27 June.
My Lady Jane trailer
The trailer has some corker lines, opening with: “History remembers Jane as the ultimate damsel in distress, known for her death, rather than her life. f**k that, what if history were different?”
When Lady Jane is asked by her future husband what her desire is, she replies “independence”. We are obsessed.
