The Traitors season four spoilers ahead.
New Year’s resolutions have already fallen by the wayside as we collectively fixate on The Traitors season 4 cast.
We’re back in the castle, with Claudia Winkleman and her famous fringe presiding over the chaos once more — and this time, she’s fully embracing her power.
We thought the biggest twist of season four would be the introduction of the brand-new Secret Traitor — now revealed to be Fiona — who caused serious chaos for both the Faithful and the Traitors alike. But then came the real shock: a full-blown Traitor-on-Traitor attack, followed by a deal the Traitors might not be able to refuse. And is everyone in The Traitors related?!
But the latest round of banishments has truly left us reeling. It just goes to show, you can never predict what's going to happen next in the dramatic BBC show. Find out all about the most recent banished and murdered cast members below.
During last night’s episode (Jan 21), tension was at an all-time high between our traitors, who’ve been scheming together since the very start.
The episode kicked off with the ceremonial dagger being handed to James, as the group hoped he’d target Matthew. Luckily for them, their plan went off without a hitch. When it came down to the votes, James used his two votes to eliminate Matthew, but it was Rachel’s decisive vote that ultimately sealed his fate.
As Matthew stood up and revealed he was actually a Faithful, jaws dropped across the boardroom. That master scheme to become a Traitor? Yeah, it didn’t exactly go according to plan.
As the seven remaining players reeled from Matthew’s banishment, usually-quiet Faraaz pitched a theory — and nailed it, correctly identifying Rachel as a Traitor. Everything hinged on Fiona’s decision to have a one-on-one with Rachel, something she’d never done before. Can Rachel wiggle her way out of this one?
Things might have gotten even messier in the turret. Rachel issued Stephen a warning that left him questioning their pact, hinting that she wouldn’t hesitate to name him as a potential Traitor if necessary.
“Please remember nobody can stick up for one another at this point,” she told him. “And if you hear anybody repeat that I’m talking about you, it’s because I have to, to protect our alliance.”
Stephen wasn’t exactly thrilled: “Right now, I’m worried. Maybe I’ve been blind... If I did find out that she was going against me behind my back, then game on.”
Tonight’s episode is shaping up to be juicy.

Meet The Traitors 2026 cast
Here’s a quick list for anyone frantically googling during an ad break.
Who are the Traitors?
Rachel, Stephen and Hugo were selected as the three Traitors by Claudia Winkleman in episode one. They were also informed of a mysterious Secret Traitor, kept secret from themselves and even the viewers! Not fair.
Hugo was banished, leaving Rachel and Stephen with the Secret Traitor, who has been revealed…
Plus, Matthew has requested to join the duo.
Who is the Secret Traitor?
In the fourth episode, the Secret Traitor was revealed to be none other than… Fiona! The sweet senior had been pulling the strings behind the scenes to great effect. Rachel and Stephen were shocked by this revelation, but seemed committed to working with her from now on.
Fiona had raised suspicions thanks to her behaviour during the first challenge. She appeared confused during the task, which involved placing coffins into named graves. However, viewers were quick to speculate that the confusion may have been a ruse — with some suggesting she was deliberately playing dumb.
“I was wonderful, wasn't I? Hollywood is beckoning, I can feel it… I have basically done your job for you for the past few nights,” Fiona gloated.
However, Fiona got a little too confident and was next for the chopping block…
Who has been murdered in The Traitors so far?
Episode one ended with a cliffhanger: who would be the first victim of the Traitors? Ultimately, they decided to eliminate Netty and place suspicion on her old friend, Ross. Foolishly, Ross admitted he had hoped to keep it a secret that he knew Netty prior to the show.
The second victim to lose his life to the traitors was Ben. He was chosen by the deadly team in order to send even more suspicion in the direction of Ross. This would incriminate Ross, as Ben had expressed doubts over Ross before leaving the castle on his last night, which was a useful detail picked up by Stephen, who happened to be in the room at the time.
Thanks to Rachel’s hasty thumbprints on the family tree, the Traitors were presented with several options—and ultimately chose to murder Maz. They believed this would draw attention away from Sam’s survival, positioning him as someone unlikely to be banished any time soon. The killing was carried out in person, adding an extra layer of shock to the move.
He became the fourth contestant murdered in season four of The Traitors. In a way, it was a mercy killing—he’d been under suspicion countless times and repeatedly dismissed, and at that point, the Traitors decided it was simply easier to take him out of the game altogether.
There wasn’t much reason to target Adam, but it turned out to be a lucky guess about which contestants didn’t have a shield — and they were right! The move stirred the pot, though, sparking more suspicion among the Faithful as they scrambled to figure out who could have known.
We all knew it was only a matter of time before Jessie was “murdered” as no one would have ever willingly banished her. Even so, seeing her go was still painful. Her death could have put a target on Stephen’s back, given how suspicious she had been of him, but he cleverly flipped it, using reverse psychology to suggest that her suspicions were exactly what the Traitors wanted.
Who has been banished in The Traitors so far?
The first victim of the roundtable was sweet Judy, as she received the most votes from the Faithful. The suspicion was largely due to a supposed change in behaviour, as Sam convinced his fellow players that the nerves were getting to her.
Unfortunately, Judy stood up and revealed that she was a Faithful.
In episode 3, Hugo became the next banished player – as well as the first traitor to be caught.
Hugo essentially incriminated himself with an outburst at breakfast over Ben's murder that many people deemed to be suspicious, but the final straw was an eviscerating argument put forward by Harriet at the roundtable.
Even before that, many found Hugo to be the most obvious of the traitors, and feared his eagerness would catch up to him. His departure left us with two traitors and one Secret Traitor.
In episode 4, Ross was banished by the Faithfuls as the Traitors' trickery came to fruition. He had been pinned for the murders of Netty and Ben. After his death, a confessional by Ellie revealed that the two were secretly in a relationship! Ross also shared in his exit interview that he believed Ellie to be a Traitor at the time, due to her reluctance to speak to him privately.
Even the most beloved reality show on television holds a mirror up to our unconscious biases.

In episode 5, things got TENSE at the roundtable. Amanda was unfortunately voted out after it came down to a tie between her and sweet shop assistant Reece. When Claudia brought out the chests of chance, Reece picked the one with the shield, and Amanda was banished from the castle. But this was only the beginning of the drama.
Amanda's departure led to a face-off between Traitors Fiona and Rachel, after Rachel revealed, after Amanda's banishment, that she had been a detective. Fiona did not take kindly to this revelation – especially as she believed that if this were true, Amanda would've told her due to her own family's history of working in the police. This tension led Fiona to call Rachel out directly to the other players, telling them she thought Rachel was a Traitor.
So from now on, we can expect a full-on war between two Traitors! All because of Amanda's banishment.
Diva down! In the latest episode of The Traitors, Fiona's cunning plan turned out to be… not so cunning. After gunning for fellow Traitor Rachel, Fiona unwittingly placed herself in the firing line. And it was fellow Traitor Stephen who delivered the fatal shot by turning on her at the roundtable.
From the best Faithful we’d ever seen to banished in the very same episode — she flew too close to the sun, and that sun was Rachel, the Incredible Traitor. The secret barrister left the Traitors visibly rattled when she calmly laid out her suspicions during a confessional conversation.
Harriet then went on the offensive at breakfast, dropping the bombshell of her previous career and revealing she’d written best-selling crime novels. But, much like Fiona before her, she pushed just a little too hard. By the end of the episode, she found herself squarely in the firing line and was ultimately banished at the Round Table.
Much of the heat on Sam goes back to the infamous cage punishment, when everyone assumed that one of the players facing “murder” must be a Traitor. With other suspects gradually being eliminated, the group turned their attention to Sam. Unfortunately for them, he was actually Faithful. That said, their theory wasn’t entirely off: Stephen had also been in the cages, keeping the suspicion alive.
Jade narrowly escaped banishment as the group chose to send Ellie home instead. All eyes had been on her for a while, and she faced her fate with remarkable grace. When she stood up, she revealed that she was a Faithful, and, in a shocking twist, admitted the full truth about her relationship with Ross.
It all came down to Matthew or James. Matthew had thought he was aligning himself with the Traitors after that church discussion, but instead, they were plotting his downfall. The ceremonial dagger was handed to James, who had long been suspicious of him, and Traitor Rachel cast the decisive vote against Matthew as well. Two birds, one dagger.

Location: Doncaster
Age: 60
Job: Child Liaison Officer
One of the best things about The Traitors is its wide age range, and Judy joins a long line of past contestants who have proved that your golden years are the perfect time to take on a brand-new challenge. She believed the show would be a “great opportunity to do it at [her] time of life.”
She added, “I just think that the whole experience will be incredible, and I will never, ever experience anything like this again.”
With numerous children and stepchildren — plus an impressive 11 grandchildren — Judy is unlikely to have any trouble making herself heard at the famously rowdy roundtable.

Age: 52
Job: Crime writer and former barrister
We all know Agatha Christie would have absolutely aced The Traitors, and now we’re getting the next best thing in Harriet — a former barrister turned crime writer.
“I spend my life making up horrible ways for people to die and killing people on the page,” she said.
“The idea that I might get to actually plot to kill people or track down a murderer — but, you know, without any actual blood being shed — is the closest I’ll ever get to that experience in real life. So, quite honestly, what’s not to like?”
Quite honestly? Iconic.
To survive, though, Harriet will be turning up the volume on other parts of her life — housewife, mother, dog owner — while dialling down the cut-throat, bloodthirsty author within.
You can follow Harriet on Instagram @harriet_tyce.
Location: London
Age: 32
Job: Cyber security consultant
They’re really zoning in on the perfect jobs for the show, aren’t they? Forget masseuses and teachers — this season is stacked with security consultants and crime writers galore.
Stephen, for one, has been taking his research seriously, rewatching previous seasons to “examine the certain things that people have done that were so normal to them but others found weird.”
Follow Stephen on Instagram @stephenlibby.
Location: London
Age: 33
Job: Psychologist
Never underestimate a blonde — especially one who could psychoanalyse your entire childhood in minutes. In a sea of eerily relevant jobs, a psychologist might just be the most damning faithful of the lot.
Ellie finds the show “so psychologically interesting” and loves “analysing what everyone’s doing and thinking, and why they’re convinced they know something when, to the viewer, they’re quite clearly wrong.”
Off-duty, she’s a keen Cluedo player and a master of the poker face, so expect her to be scrutinising everyone’s body language at the roundtable.
Location: London
Age: 37
Job: Sales exec and personal trainer
Ross is no stranger to juggling two very different worlds, and perhaps he’ll have to put those skills to the test as a Traitor on the show… only time will tell.
He first heard about The Traitors through his clients and applied on a whim.
“I like to think I’m a good judge of character,” Ross said. “I think it’ll be a fun, interesting adventure and a cool opportunity — I’m actually really excited.”
Ross can be followed on Instagram @rossgift.
Location: Hull
Age: 28
Job: Hairstylist
If anyone can wring secrets out of people, it’s a hairdresser — or in this case, Jessie. Give her a wash basin, and she’d have the cast confessing in one shampoo.
Jessie applied for The Traitors to challenge herself and meet new people. She thinks she might be underestimated because of her stammer and bright hair — and plans to use that to her advantage. “People might think that I don’t have it in me to be brutal, but I do,” she says.

Location: Glasgow
Age: 42
Job: Nursery school teacher
Finally, a job that wasn’t handpicked by MI6 to be on the show — a proper normie like us viewers! That’s not to downplay Netty’s career or her chances, of course; after all, footballer Jake Brown was a joint winner in season three.
Netty describes The Traitors as “one of the most amazing games” and wanted to do something for herself while having fun.
She explained: “I joined for purely selfish reasons, but I just wanted to have some fun and do something that allowed me to get a little bit of myself back. I like delving into people and finding out about them, so I’m excited to meet everyone and get to know them.”

Job: Local Government Officer
The best contestants are always fans of the show, like Fiona, who has been watching The Traitors for years.
“I think it’s the most authentic reality TV show, and I’m not big into reality TV,” she explained. “Because it’s a game that requires tact and a lot of psychological manoeuvres, it really appealed to me.”
“I’m a chatty person by nature,” Fiona added. “My job involves getting people to trust me so they can move forward with their lives. I’m a trustworthy person, and people naturally warm to that. I think I’m a good judge of character too — although that remains to be seen over the next few weeks!”

Rachel is the kind of competitive spirit you love on your team but dread facing across a game of Settlers of Catan. She’s been playing Mafia for 15 years and is a competitive person “through and through,” which naturally drew her to try her hand at The Traitors.
“I will do anything to win. Nothing’s off the table. I’m very good at knowing the difference between reality and a game,” she said.

The season four cast of The Traitors might just be the most competitive yet — so how does Jade plan to stand out? Simple: she’s got years of video game experience, many of which she says are surprisingly similar to the show. When the chance to apply came up, she asked herself, “Why would I not?”
“I’m quite an observant person, I’m good with people, and I pick up on things that a lot of people think I miss,” she shared. “I have pretty strong problem-solving abilities, so hopefully that will help me navigate the game and the missions.”

Age: 57
Job: Retired police detective
Social media is already obsessed with Amanda — especially her plan to keep her job a secret from the other contestants. We don’t blame her: she’d be first to go otherwise!
Amanda is in it to win it and has believed in her chances since first watching the show.
As a detective, she’s conducted countless interviews with criminals and victims, giving her the ability to “put the pieces together to find the truth and see through the lies.”
“To be a Traitor, you have to be good at lying, have a solid poker face, and be a master of deflection to avoid being identified. I’ve learned a lot about being deceptive, devious, and cunning,” she explained.
“On the other side of the coin, I’m a good person — I became a police officer to help people. You have to be nice and calm, even when there’s a storm around you. I’d bring all these skills into the game, whichever role I’m assigned.”
We’re obsessed with her strategy: “My game plan is to almost not have a game plan.”

Age: 51
Job: Barrister
Hugo might just be the most relatable member of The Traitors season four cast — barrister aside. He describes himself as “obsessed with The Traitors” and has watched every episode across the UK, US, Australia, and New Zealand formats. He calls it “such a fascinating game.”
“I’m a barrister, so I talk to juries, but they go off and make decisions in a quiet room, so I never get to see it. But this — you just think, how could you be so wrong? I can’t take my eyes off it, I love it,” he explained.
He’s also a big fan of board games like Risk, Monopoly, and Diplomacy, so we’re curious to see how those skills transfer from the board to the roundtable.

What draws Sam to The Traitors? He calls the show “a breath of fresh air and authentic fun, but also a ton of emotions, gameplay, and competitiveness.”
“It really suits my character, and I’m at a stage in my life where I just want to have as many amazing experiences as possible. I applied on a whim, and suddenly we’re here,” he explained.

Adam is ready to win The Traitors — and he’s not afraid to say it.
“That’s it, simple,” he said. “I’ll play whatever hand I need to play, and that’s it.”
A lover of competition and outthinking his fellow contestants, Adam plans to put that passion to work this season. He describes himself as “a very outspoken, dramatic sort of person,” which could make for some fiery roundtable discussions.
While at the castle, he’s also hoping to find out if it’s “haunted.”

Faraaz has been a “huge fan” of The Traitors since season one, so he figured it was finally time to try it for himself. Let’s see if competing is as enjoyable as watching from the comfort of his own home.
His unique skill? “I’ll bring my charisma, my charm, my personality. I think I’ll have the skill, the determination, and knowledge of the game, with the will to win.”
Luckily for everyone else, Faraaz has assured viewers that he’s “not a sore loser.”

Job: Sweet shop assistant
How many people can say they’ve been on The Traitors? Only a few dozen — which is exactly what drove Reece to sign up.
“I don’t think I’ve done anything in my life that’s so unique, and because I also have that competitive edge, I’m excited to see what I’m able to do,” he explained.
He may have a sweet job, but don’t expect him to sugarcoat things at the roundtable. “I’m not shy about being cutthroat. I’m quite what you see is what you get, but obviously very aware that this is a game. If I must remodel my personality to fit what’s in front of me at the time, that’s what I will do.”

Maz was drawn to the essence of The Traitors — the conversations, the relationships, and the missions.
“I’m 59 and I’ve done various things in my life, so I feel as though I’ve got good life experience,” he added.
“I’m told that I’m good to get on with and I’m funny — my kids say I’m funny looking. I think I can bring some humour, some chilled-out moments, some interesting thoughts, and I’ll be able to add to the jigsaw of the game.”
We think many will underestimate Maz, and it could well be to their detriment.

It all comes down to this.

Another self-proclaimed “massive fan” of The Traitors, Jack wanted to do something that would push him out of his comfort zone.
He believes the key to success is never letting your guard down, whether at the roundtable or on a mission. You need to be “so switched on regardless of whether you’re a Traitor or a Faithful.”
“It just takes one slip-up and you could be gone,” he said. “You’ve got to be so locked in, both physically and mentally.”
Jack aims to be seen as a “team player,” leaning on his smiley nature and helping others during missions.

True dedication to the show? Roxy even travelled all the way from the Netherlands just to compete! She’s explained that the first six years of her life were rocky, and that, combined with her experience of adapting to new situations, meeting new people, and figuring out who to trust, will take her far on the show.
“It can be a blessing and a curse that I’m quite an empath. I hope I bring a bit of unity to the group,” she added.
She's also one of many relatives on the show as she is Judy's adoptive daughter.

Like many of us, Matthew’s New Year’s resolution was to have more adventures. Only, while most of us will be taking a campervan holiday or hiking Ben Nevis, he decided to apply for The Traitors instead.
Let’s see if he gets the adventure he’s been hoping for. Matthew also pointed out that he’s the first Northern Irish man to compete on the show.

Ben
Location: Hampshire
Age: 66
Job: Retired
Ben had never seen anything like The Traitors, and it left him “intrigued.”
“I was taken in totally and kept saying it’s like Columbo and Agatha Christie looking for Judas Iscariot,” he explained.
Now he’s at the roundtable himself, fighting for his life — but he seems confident about his chances. “I’ll bring my charisma, my charm, my personality. I think I’ll have the skill, the determination, and knowledge of the game, with the will to win.”
James
Location: Weymouth
Age: 38
Job: Gardener
Unlike many of his fellow contestants, James didn’t start watching The Traitors until season two — “because people nagged [him].”
Late to the party, he’s now competing himself, bringing “a passion for the game and sort of geeky vibes.”
A keen poker player, he describes the show as “a beautiful lovechild of Midsomer Murders and poker.” We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.
Interestingly, James thinks his experience playing live music will help him most in the game. “I’ll be good at working the crowd, maybe keeping the energy up,” he explained. “I have ADHD, and it’s blindingly obvious I do. I’ll bring this vibe where it looks like I’m a bouncy Duracell bunny — like a happy-go-lucky class clown, maybe a jovial chap.”
