When tragedy strikes, we often do the unexpected, and sometimes we think outside the box when our loved ones are at stake. This ex-cop was also likely caught in a dilemma that led him into the world of crime.

Representative picture

The 61-year-old man from Kerala was a policeman in Bahrain, a country in the Middle East, for almost 9 years before coming to India. However, he turned into a professional car thief to make a quick buck after his son was diagnosed with cancer, Times Now reported.

However, he could not hide from the cops and was arrested in 2008 by Ashoknagar police. But he managed to get out of jail after getting bail at the time.

But the arrest did not stop him from committing the crimes. Recently, the man was again arrested, the second time in 14 years, by Byatarayanapura Police Station for removing an SUV from a service center. Cops were also able to recover two bicycles lifted from the High Ground Police Station boundary from his home. After stealing vehicles, he fabricated their fake documents and sold them in the market, a Bangalore Mirror report read.

It was during his interrogation that the former cop revealed that he took to the highway and started committing crimes to earn money for his sick son. Police also informed that he was also involved in lifting vehicles from various parts of the city of Bengaluru and Kerala.

Despite all that is going on in his life, the man could have chosen a legitimate path to earn money. The fact that he became a criminal made things worse for his family. You do not think ?
