Did you think Brat ended back in 2024? Oh, honey – think again. 2026 is shaping up to be the most bratty year ever, with the release of The Moment.
Charli XCX is fully in her film era now and will be starring in a mockumentarycalled The Moment. Directed by Aidan Zamiri, the project blends real footage from the Brat tour – including Charli’s chat show appearances and onstage performances – with staged, fictional backstage scenes.
Charli XCX dubbed the film “a 2024 period piece.”

“It's not a tour documentary or a concert film in any way, but the seed of the idea was conceived from this idea of being pressured to make one,” she explained. "It's fiction, but it's the realest depiction of the music industry that I've ever seen."
The Moment will follow the making of the album and the tour that followed. And if we know Charli, it’s going to be iconic, full of her tongue-in-cheek humour and unapologetic, candid confidence.
Who’s in Charli XCX's The Moment?
Well, obviously Charli is in it. She plays a pop star gearing up for a worldwide tour, navigating fame, fortune, and all the chaos in between. Told in mockumentary style, the film follows Charli as a larger-than-life pop sensation, blending humour, absurdity and the candid moments only she can deliver. She described her role as “sort of a hell version of myself.”
Charli has already shown off her acting chops, from hosting Saturday Night Live to a memorable turn in an episode of Overcompensating.
Michael Workeye has another exciting project on the horizon: Margot's Got Money Troubles, starring alongside Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer. He’s previously appeared in the sadly short-lived My Lady Jane and The Stolen Girl. We can’t wait to learn more about his character in The Moment.
Forget triple threat, Hailey Gates is a quadruple threat: model, actress, director, and journalist. She’s best known for hosting the Viceland series States of Undress, and she’ll appear in 2026’s The Drama alongside Robert Pattinson and Zendaya. Next up, we can’t wait to see which character she takes on in The Moment.
An American-French singer, Arielle Dombasle is a fascinating addition to the cast of The Moment, and we’re dying to know which role she’ll be playing. She first gained recognition through her work with director Éric Rohmer, appearing in Perceval le Gallois and Pauline à la plage, before branching into more mainstream films like Un Indien dans la ville and Astérix et Obélix contre César.
Yep, the beauty girlie will be playing herself in the film! Kylie Jenner is dipping into this documentary without a character. We can't wait to see how that pans out. No doubt her beau, Timothee Chalamet, will be turning up to the premiere to support her.
Honestly, we’re not surprised at all to see Kate Berlant in the cast of The Moment, as this is right in her wheelhouse. The comedian, actress, and writer is known for her surrealist and absurdist style, with standout work including Duck Butter, Frankenstein's Monster's Monster and Would It Kill You To Laugh?
No doubt Rish Shah crossed paths with Charli XCX while filming Overcompensating. He had his breakout role in Ms. Marvel and has since appeared in Do Revenge, Obsession and Joy. This new project is quite a departure from his usual work, so we’re buzzing to see which role he’ll take on next.
I guess I Love LA hasn’t been keeping Rachel Sennott busy enough, but this is exactly the kind of project she’ll excel in. From Bottoms to Shiva Baby, the actress, screenwriter, and comedian has shown incredible range on screen. We wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up playing a version of herself, à la Jenner.
Another musician in the mix, Shygirl toured North America from September 15 to October 23, 2024, as an opener on the Sweat Tour with Charli XCX and Troye Sivan. It’s likely that her performances will feature in the film, and there’s a chance she might even appear in additional scenes as herself.
From theatre star to screen sensation, Isaac Cole Powell is another intriguing addition to the cast of The Moment. He’s particularly known for his work on American Horror Story, appearing in two seasons of Ryan Murphy’s hit series.
I can’t think of Jamie Demetriou without remembering his unforgettable role in Fleabag, but he’s also known for The Roses, Cruella and Back in Action. The English comedian, actor, and screenwriter will no doubt have us wheezing with laughter in The Moment.
What hasn’t Alexander Skarsgård been in? Or more importantly — what hasn’t he been in shirtless? From The Legend of Tarzan to Pillars and Big Little Lies, he’s done it all. Charli revealed he’ll be playing “one of the villains or antagonists” in the film — and anyone who’s seen True Blood won’t be surprised by that.
Okay, now this is an interesting one. Mel Ottenberg, American wardrobe stylist and editor-in-chief of Interview magazine, will be appearing as himself. From 2011 to 2019, he worked as Rihanna’s stylist and has shaped the looks of countless high-profile musicians, actresses, and other celebrities.
Rosanna Arquette has appeared in countless cult classics, from Pulp Fiction to Desperately Seeking Susan — the latter earning her a BAFTA. This is new territory for Arquette, and we can’t wait to see her tackle it.
Richard Ray Perez is an American documentary producer and director, known for projects like Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Election. It’s still unclear whether he’ll appear in The Moment on-screen or work behind the scenes — time will tell!
